Lane dividers are mainly placed at points of the road network (construction work, detours or maintenance project) where it is required to separate the opposite traffic lane flow to avoid accidents and guide passing drivers.

The traffic divider or plastic road barrier (Jersey Barrier) is usually installed on highways creating an array of the desired length with the use of integrated connectors (male-female), while the white-red color alternation makes it visible from a long distance and in low light conditions.

Other applications of plastic road parapets are the demarcation of traffic lanes, the creation of temporary road islands or junctions, the marking of damaged points of the road network, the temporary replacement of metal safety barriers, the demarcation of construction sites, race tracks, etc.
